Steady progress across our programmes

Dear supporter,

Following the winter break, girls across our programmes have returned to school and continued their education with the support systems in place - from safe boarding environments to the structure needed to stay engaged and progressing.

In our boarding houses, girls are now well into the academic year. For many, this marks several years within the programme - and that continuity matters. We continue to see strong educational outcomes, including a 98% pass rate in recent assessments, reflecting the impact of stable, supported learning environments.

These spaces provide far more than accommodation. They offer routine, security, and a sense of belonging - all of which are critical in enabling girls to remain in education and succeed over time.

Our inclusive education work has also continued throughout Q1 - delivering tailored support for girls with Down syndrome, combining education with therapeutic interventions. In a context where access to specialist provision remains limited, this support is essential in ensuring that these girls are not excluded from learning or future opportunities.

Two young women with Down syndrome recently graduated from the programme and have secured full-time roles as kitchen staff at the Oberoi Hotel in Marrakech.

This is a significant milestone - not just for them, but for what it represents. In a context where employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities remain limited, this progression from education into meaningful work shows what is possible when the right support is in place.

This kind of consistency is what creates long-term change, and we couldn't be more grateful for your ongoing support.

With gratitude,

The EFAM team.
