Challenge

In Goma, children affected by armed conflict suffer from trauma-related language disorders that severely limit their ability to communicate and learn. These children struggle to integrate into the regular primary education system, increasing their vulnerability and exclusion. The lack of specialized educational support, trained personnel, and adequate learning materials worsens the situation, leaving hundreds of children without proper intervention or opportunities for development and recovery.

Solution

This project will address the problem by providing specialized, individualized language education tailored to war-traumatized children in Goma. Through structured learning sessions, trained educators will help children develop communication skills, confidence, and independence. The program will use adapted teaching materials and therapeutic approaches to support recovery, enabling children to integrate into primary education and reducing long-term exclusion from learning opportunities.

Long-Term Impact

The project's long-term impact is improved inclusion and educational success for war-traumatized children in Goma. By strengthening communication skills and emotional recovery, children will gain independence and better school performance. Over time, this will reduce educational exclusion, increase literacy rates, and build a more resilient generation capable of contributing positively to their families and community despite past conflict experiences.
