Dear Donor,
For children with thalassemia, every blood transfusion keeps them alive, but also brings excess iron into their body. When this iron is not removed through regular iron chelation therapy, it begins to deposit in vital organs and in the bones.
Why Are Bones at Risk?
Unmanaged iron overload weakens bone structure, reduces bone density, causes deformities, delays growth, and increases the risk of fractures. Many thalassemia children in Pakistan already struggle with fragile bones because they cannot afford consistent chelation therapy. Interrupted treatment leads to long-term damage that cannot be reversed.
The Reality We See
At KITCC, we are treating over 1,023 patients, but rising medicine prices and resource shortages mean many families are forced to skip chelation doses. Even missing a few sessions can accelerate bone loss and cause serious, lifelong complications.
How Can You Help?
Your donation ensures that no child misses their monthly iron chelation therapy. With your support, we can protect their bones, prevent disability, and give them the chance to grow stronger and healthier.
Thank you for helping us continue this life-saving work.
