St Linus Renal Care Initiative has continued to touch the lives of men, women and children living with chronic kidney disease through treatment support. In addition, our preventive programs include awareness campaigns, advocacy and free screening for CKD risk factors .
In the last few months, we distributed free educational pamphlets titled 'Know about CKD' to over 150 people in diabetes and hypertension clinics. We have supported up to 10 patients to have at least one dialysis treatment, and this support is ongoing.
We provided free antihypertensives and antidiabetic medicines to 250 people residing in rural communities in Delta-North, Nigeria. Our free kidney clinic remains open to our community, and we provide free consultation, subsidized medicines and laboratory tests.
Due to extreme shortage of funds and minimal donations, we still struggle to assist people already living with advanced kidney disease requiring dialysis or kidney transplant. While we hope for a brighter future, SLRCI remains committed to her vision and will continue to work within its resources to improve the lives of people living with CKD.
