The unseen storm on August 7th in Macedonia has brought sadness and fear, leaving hundreds of families without homes just during one night! Official information indicates that at least 20 died, 22 people were injured and 6 are missing. Most affected are the northeastern suburbs of the capital Skopje. Water has entered into the houses and apartments and made huge damages. Let's show solidarity! People in Macedonia need water, baby diapers, hygiene packages and canned food.
Thousands of people from Skopje and Tetovo are living in shelters since their homes were severely destroyed by the floods. They are in miserable situation since they have lost most of their assets and are now living in shelters and are in huge need for support in: food, water, baby products, clothes, blankets, hygienic packages, etc. We want to provide basic needs for this people and assist them in this time of crisis.
With this project we want to provide basic humanitarian needs for families whose houses were destroyed in the flood. Recovery will last for months and hundreds of families will spend that time in shelters. For that period it is needed to provide huge amounts of water, food, clothes, hygiene packages, baby supplies (food, diapers), etc. We are inviting everyone to help, so we can transport all these necessary goods in Skopje as soon as possible.
Providing sufficient amount of needed goods will assist at least 100 families living in shelters with basic living needs. It is important to provide support since refurbishing of their homes will last for months. Most of this people affected by the floods were living in harsh living conditions even before the floods. This is an emergency situation that requires urgent response and action in order to provide basic needs for those vulnerable families.
