The recent floods in Pakistan have left thousands of families struggling to rebuild their lives after losing homes, livelihoods, and basic necessities. Through the support received via GlobalGiving, Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF) has been actively working on the ground to provide timely relief to flood-affected families, with a special focus on the most vulnerable households.
Our team conducted field assessments in affected areas to identify families with the greatest need, including households with persons with disabilities, women-headed families, and daily wage earners who lost their source of income due to the floods. Based on these assessments, relief support was distributed to ensure fairness, dignity, and transparency.
Families received essential relief items aimed at addressing immediate survival needs. These included basic food supplies, hygiene essentials, and household support items to help them stabilize during the recovery phase. For many families, this assistance meant relief from hunger and the ability to focus on rebuilding rather than daily survival.
One of the most impactful aspects of this project has been restoring hope. Beneficiaries shared that beyond material support, the visit and concern shown by the team made them feel remembered and valued during a very difficult time. Several families expressed that this was the first organized assistance they had received since the floods.
DWAF continues to monitor conditions in affected communities and is planning follow-up support where possible, particularly as families face long-term challenges such as damaged homes, loss of employment, and rising living costs. The project remains active, and our commitment to serving flood survivors continues as recovery takes time and sustained effort.
We are deeply grateful to all supporters who made this relief possible. Your trust and support have helped transform compassion into action and provided real relief to families when they needed it most.
