1. Continuing the Mission of Compassion
The Deaf Welfare Awareness Foundation (DWAF) continues its unwavering mission of compassion and service. Led by Ma’am Farhat Aslam, our dedicated team reached multiple flood-affected areas across Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing relief, hope, and humanity to those who lost everything.
After successful relief drives in Muzaffargarh, Ali Pur, and Swat, the team moved towards Seetpur, where countless families were struggling for survival amidst the devastation. With every step, DWAF carried a simple message —
“Together, we care. We serve. We rise.”
2. Witnessing Heartbreaking Realities
During our relief operations, we came across many painful and unforgettable moments — none more striking than the sight of a mother holding her three-day-old baby, crying helplessly after her home was completely destroyed by the flood.
She had no food, no clean water, and nowhere to go.
Such moments reminded us why humanity must never stop caring. Each tear and every story strengthened our resolve to continue this mission — not as charity, but as our duty towards life, dignity, and compassion.
3. Voices from the Ground: Alipur & Seetpur
In Alipur, Dr. Parveen Lal shared the heartbreaking reality of the flood situation — the losses, the pain, but also the courage of the people.
DWAF stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the affected families, delivering food, medicine, clean water, and household essentials. To ensure inclusion, the entire interview and awareness message were also made available in Sign Language, helping the Deaf community understand and participate in the relief efforts.
“Inclusivity means no one is left behind — not even in disaster.”
4. Distribution & Relief Activities
DWAF carried out extensive relief and rehabilitation drives across multiple districts. The activities included:
Emergency Relief Supplies
Cooked food for displaced families
Dry ration bags (Rashan) for over 2,000 families
Tents and mosquito nets to protect against harsh weather and disease
Household essentials including bedding, utensils, and sanitary materials
Cash support for rebuilding and repair work of damaged houses
Clean Water & Health Protection
Nuqra RO Water Purification Systems were installed and used to provide clean drinking water to protect families from cholera, diarrhea, and waterborne diseases.
Medical camps provided first aid, medicines, and hygiene awareness sessions to prevent the spread of infections.
Clothing Distribution
Over 2,000 stitched and unstitched clothing suits were distributed among women, children, and elderly individuals.
These were provided in regions including Swat, Buner (KPK) and Seetpur, Alipur, Muzaffargarh (Punjab).
5. Joy, Learning, and Inclusion in Swat
During one visit to a special school in Swat, DWAF spread smiles and love through a “Happiness Party” for Deaf and differently-abled students.
The team shared food, laughter, and the beautiful message —
“Happiness grows when we live together, share, and care for others.”
The entire school echoed with joy, proving that kindness has no language — and every act of sharing creates a ripple of hope.
6. Restoring Hope and Dignity
Through these missions, DWAF not only provided physical relief but also worked to restore the emotional strength and dignity of flood-affected families.
Our teams continue to visit and monitor the areas to ensure long-term rehabilitation — from livelihood support to inclusive education and skills training for Deaf and differently-abled youth.
7. Looking Ahead
The journey doesn’t end here.
DWAF aims to expand its efforts by:
Building sustainable water purification systems in flood-prone regions
Supporting education and skills programs for youth, especially the Deaf community
Encouraging community-led resilience models for disaster preparedness
Together with compassionate partners and supporters like you, we will continue to rebuild lives, empower communities, and strengthen inclusion across Pakistan.
8. Gratitude
We extend heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers, donors, and local partners who stood beside us during this challenging time. Your faith and support make every step of our journey possible.
“Where there is compassion, there is hope — and where there is hope, there is life.”
