Naandi Foundation serves hot & nutritious meals to more than a million children across India on all schooldays. Your contribution will add value to the meals served to these underprivileged children.
Half of the world’s hungry live in India; the majority of them being children. To ensure fewer and fewer children go to bed hungry, the Supreme Court of India in one of its landmark decisions, linked a school feeding program to the government's quality education program. This was to encourage poor families to enroll their children into government schools so their children would be guaranteed at least one square meal a day called the Midday Meal program.
By providing nutritious meals to Naandi ensures that children are in a position to understand & learn what is being taught in class. Meals from a centralized kitchen succeed in bringing down caste barriers, as all children get same quality of food.
Long term objective is to make children healthy with nutritious meals.By demonstrating through our project that fortified midday meals have positive impact on nutritional status of children, we seek to have impact on public policy.
