The project aims at transforming 120 young females who were much affected in Nakivale refuge settlement when covid 19 invaded country in March 2020. Under this project 120 teen girls will be trained in vocational skills such as tailoring, hair dressing, sweat knitting among others. This training will be done in gazetted safe space places to allow them attend without being interrupted by others.The training will be for 1 year ,the instructors will act as Councillor to help these girls .
The problem was brought by covid 19 which led the relief distribution in inadequate.In the lock down without food these teen girls were engaged in sexual practices for survival and this has resulted in having unwanted pregnancy and being child mothers in earl years without care.The settlement is a mixed culture camp .Refuges come from neighboring counties for protection.There is a need to transform these affected girls to real people through acquiring skills to improve their lives.
The project will help to transform the 120 teen girls with skills and will be able to look after themselves.They will not be involved in sexual practices of getting food instead get food through providing skills to camp mates,These will be example to others,Through counseling and guidance from the safe space these young girls will help others in their age.
When the project expires the trained young girls will be able to train others to earn the living, and they will be able to look after their children and boost their lives.This will reduce the early marriage and unwanted pregnancy through counseling
