Dear Well-wishers,

Regards from Gram Vikas Trust!

We at Gram Vikas Trust, hope for the best health of yours while reading this. The global Pandemic has almost changed many lives in the world. As you definitely aware with the situation that many people has left their jobs and facing other socio-economic crisis. In this report GVT wants to share about our students, as the colleges and schools are not functioning and all our students are at their home only. Some of the students have forced to work in the field or at small scale companies to support in family’s income.

We at GVT, are continuously in touch with our students as the situation may force the students to quit their studies. The reasons may be different from one students to another, such as lack of income due to Covid-19, peer pressure, lack of resources for online studies and so on. But if they left their studies in between, they might not able to grab the chance to change their future.

Prakash (name changed) is continuing his last year in, who was having a featured phone till last month, he was not able to afford smart phone. While discussing with him, we came to know that he was not able to watch the lessons shared by his college on regular basis due to featured phone. He some time borrow his friends phone to watch the lessons, but he was not able to use it on regular basis. To solve this issue, one of our stakeholder from the same village, donated one smart phone to Prakash, and the stakeholder took the responsibility to recharge for internet so that he can watch his classes online. Prakash is good at studies, but the financial condition might have pushed him back and may force him to quit his studies if he may not supported on time.

Like Prakash, there are other students also who may not be able to study due to lack of resources and poor financial condition of the family, which may force them to drop out from their studies. You can support such students by some amount of money. Which will definitely going to help the student in need, to save his future.

Dear well-wisher,

Regards from Gram Vikas Trust, Bharuch.

In this pandemic situation, GVT prays for the wellbeing of each and every citizen of India and other countries. During the lockdown situation at GVT we are not able to do much with our students and other stakeholders on ground level. As for more than a month the students are at their homes. Schools and colleges are closed, and we are not able to reach out to the students.

Due to lock down situation, GVT is working from home. We have started calling our students and asking for the updates of their education and their situation in this pandemic. We are not able to reach out physically so we are trying, some of the documents and other study materials to send them online to the students. Which will definitely help them in their studies. We are trying to motivate the students via phone calls, for studies. Providing information’s such as online curses, reading materials and other which are going to help them.

We are in contact with some of the local level leaders such as sarpanch, teachers and other interested persons who can support the families who are in need. We have donated few ration kits to the needy people among the project villages with the help of some volunteers. Also hand-sanitizer, masks to the village level people. We are trying for the online campaign for the village level stakeholders which will include the awareness related messages against covid-19.

GVT has helped in many ways, but still trying to support the poor and needy for their wellbeing. Let us come together and support our brothers and sisters to live at least a simple life.

Dear well-wishers,

Regards from Gram Vikas Trust, Bharuch!

In this report GVT wants to share about the update of the project status. Initially GVT started with 40 selected children by providing the educational support for higher studies. Among these 40 students many of the students have completed their studies and now working with some of the companies in nearby industrial area, or some of them are coming to Bharuch or other areas for job. These students are 11 in numbers who have done their studies and started working.

Apart from these 23 students are still studying for the higher education, some of them are in Computer courses, Nursing, bachelors in Arts or Commerce, ITI. All these 23 students are doing well in their studies and our field staff are regularly in touch with all of them. Who provides motivation and supports whenever they required. Our field staff also are in touch with the family members for parents support in higher education.

6 of the student could not able to continue their study further because due to other responsibilities of family, family pressure for marriage, regular up and down for studies and other motivation reasons. Sometime parents do not see education as longer term investment which is not going to give benefit soon, and parents do not support their children for the same. Children also due to peer pressure or other community influences do not see education as a life changer. Among these 6 children 4 of them were girls and 2 boys.

GVT is currently working with other children also, who needs educational support. Also we are working with the parents and children also to sensitize them towards importance of education and how the education can change the reality.

Many of the students are not able to study further because of financial pressure or lack of interest of the family and community, let us come together to sensitize them for their better tomorrow.

Dear Well-wishers,

In this report Gram Vikas trust wants to share about the current situation at community level and how it is fueling our energy to work more for the cause.

Working with the rural and tribal communities since 2001, Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) has got the clear understanding about the different issues of the society. The issues they are facing are variant and looks like they are covered with so many challenges. They are poor, they do not have proper skills, they are jobless, they do not able to save money for tomorrows, they do not able to manage the household expenses, they do not have the skills to manage their lands and animal husbandry and so on. But behind each problem GVT believes that lack of education plays a crucial role.

The parents and community are not able to link their children’s good future with education. They just not worry about education and do not think about future. GVT believes that parents and community can influence the children about importance of education. If they people will lose their hope towards the benefits of education it will not work out.

With these points in mind, GVT tries to identify such parents who really value education and support their children in getting good education. GVT also tries to make such events and activities which involve parents and which might help them to change their mindsets towards education. There are hundreds of children and parents in the rural areas of Bharuch where the community itself are not motivated for their children bright future.

GVT tries to change such scenario, through awareness in the society. As giving some books and stationary to the children will help them for some time but changing the mindset will going to remain for longer time. Still GVT support such poor children but the major aim is to change the mindset of the parents.

Let us come together and help the communities to think about education and the future.

Dear well-wishers,

Regards from Gram Vikas Trust, Bharuch!

From the inception of Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) in 2001, it has been observing many girls could have able to change their lives. Hundreds of girls could have able to make their family proud being educated. Many girls could able to not marry in the very young age and different other changes due to being educated.

At GVT we all feel proud and motivated seeing these girls could have able to change their lives. The journey was not much easy and also it has not completed fully. GVT needs to reach towards hundreds of girls for primary education, higher education to support them and to provide a bright future through education.

“Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous in the end.”

- Robin Sharma

Still there are hundreds of girls who are dropped out from schools or not able to reach to school due to distance, poor education system, financial condition is also not well of most of the girls and parents and community are not interested about higher education of girls and even boys. There are many different issues which needs to be solve, or need more focus of government to work on. But all the issues can be solved through education. At GVT we believe that if a person and especially a girl can get good education she might able to change the world.

Let us come together for higher education of girls, let us make them independent. And let us make a gorgeous end.
