Project Update: Continuing to Mobilize Resources for Rural Children's Education
ONG ASRAD remains fully committed to implementing the “Support Education for Rural Children in Mali” project, which aims to improve access to quality and inclusive education for vulnerable children living in rural communities.
Education remains one of the most important investments in the future of Mali. However, many children in rural and vulnerable communities continue to face significant barriers to attending and remaining in school. Poverty, limited educational materials, inadequate school infrastructure, long distances to schools, insecurity, displacement, and difficult living conditions can all negatively affect children's education.
During this reporting period, ASRAD has continued its efforts in project preparation, community engagement, partnership development, and resource mobilization.
However, we have not yet secured sufficient financial resources to implement all planned activities at the desired scale. Our current priority is therefore to mobilize additional funding that will allow us to move from preparation to concrete support for rural children and schools.
Why Financial Support Is Still Needed
Additional resources are needed to provide essential educational support, including:
Our objective is to ensure that a lack of basic educational resources does not prevent a vulnerable child from learning and building a better future.
Education as a Pathway to Resilience
For ASRAD, supporting education goes beyond providing school supplies.
Education contributes to poverty reduction, gender equality, peace, social cohesion, human rights, community resilience, and sustainable development.
Children who have access to education are better equipped to participate in the development of their communities and to make informed decisions about their future.
ASRAD also recognizes the importance of involving parents, teachers, community leaders, women, and young people in creating an environment where children are encouraged and supported to remain in school.
Current Challenge: Funding
The main challenge facing the project remains the mobilization of sufficient financial resources.
ASRAD continues to seek support from donors, foundations, institutions, companies, development partners, and individual contributors to make the planned activities possible.
Contributions received through GlobalGiving will help us purchase educational materials, support vulnerable pupils, organize community activities, and expand access to educational opportunities in rural areas.
Next Steps
As resources become available, ASRAD plans to:
A Message to Our Supporters
We sincerely thank the GlobalGiving community, donors, and partners for their continued interest in this project.
At this stage, additional financial support is essential to enable ASRAD to move from preparation to full implementation and reach more vulnerable rural children.
Every contribution can make a difference. A school bag, notebook, learning material, or other educational support can help a child remain engaged in school and continue learning.
Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, regardless of where they live or their family's financial situation.
With your support, we can help rural children in Mali access education, remain in school, and build stronger futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Thank you for helping us turn this commitment into action.
