Help an Orphan, Poor and Needy Child attend School

SAMPARC Children’s home, Bhaje for the care of 117 orphan, poor, needy and disadvantaged girl children is situated at the footstep of famous Bhaje Caves, 10Km from Lonavala, District Pune, Maharashtra, India.

The Children’s home was started with 7 orphan children and Mr. Amitkumar Banerjee and Mrs. Lata Pande laid the foundation of the organization in a mud house in the year 1990 at the footsteps of famous Bhaje Caves near Lonavla.

The children’s upbringing and education is in a family environment of care and protection of Project Incharge, Counselor, Social Workers, House Mothers and Tutors who work with the children under guidance and help of Mrs. Ratna Banerjee, Founder Trustee and coordinator of the Project. 

In the context of spread of COVID-19 and the advisories issued by National & State Government, SAMPARC is taking all necessary precautions and measures to ensure safety of our all children and staff working in the Orphanage. We have closed entry of Staff coming from outside and others since March 15th 2020 for the safety of our Children and project staff. With our Present Number of House-Mother, Counselors, and In-charge who live in the Centre we are taking care of the Children. No one is allowed to go outside and no one is allowed to enter Children’s Home. We are coordinating supplies to the Centre very properly from our Head Office. The project staff is taking all measures to ensure safety of children during this crisis period by following all rules laid down by the Government of India. All safety precautions are being followed to ensure children are safe and healthy. All the children understand the situation and are listening to instructions properly.

 ACADEMICS-

12th std HSC Board exams were conducted as per schedule and all the children appeared for final exams. From 3rd March 2020, 10th std children appeared for SSC Board exams and appeared for all exams but only Geography exam was cancelled due to COVID-19. The final examination results of 10th std & 12th std children are awaited.

As per the State Government order, all children from preprimary to 9th std are promoted to next class. Also final exams of 11th std are now cancelled and students are promoted to 12th std. due to COVID-19.

 

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED FOR CHILDREN DURING LOCK DOWN PERIOD

As per the order of Government schools & Colleges are closed since March 15th 2020. To ensure that children’s time is utilized efficiently the in house staff- Project In-charge, Social Worker & Counselors & House Mothers are conducting various educational activities for the children.

In house staff has started teaching next academic year school syllabus to children.  Children also on their own made their class schedule/ timetable & shared with Social Worker & Project Incharge. Also some senior children are helping staff to teach small children. 

All children are attending classes daily.  Also Spoken English class, computer class, General Knowledge class and Reasoning class are conducted. SAMPARC Abhinav English Medium School children daily complete their home assignment given by their school teacher on Whats App and also with the help of Whats App staff share the homework through photos by the teachers 5 days in a week.  Staff are taking care of children education & also children are cooperating with staff.     

During this period children are spending time playing indoor games like carom, chess, ludo etc. and also enjoy watching TV by maintaining Social Distance.

The Children’s Home has a good library  and hildren are utilizing the Library efficiently during free time.

 

ACHIEVEMENTS OF CHILDREN:

  • On 2nd February 2020, four children participated in singing audition organized by Care for You at SOS Pune and among them two children Saloni & Chaitali are selected for second round.
  • On 12th February 2020, five children participated in Pune District Girls Wrestling Competition and Guddi Shinde won 1st prize & 3rd prize was won by Gauri Rajguru.
