Help an Orphan, Poor and Needy Child attend School

SAMPARC Children’s home, Bhaje for the care of 116 orphan, poor, needy and disadvantaged girl children is situated at the footstep of famous Bhaje Caves, 10Km from Lonavala, District Pune, Maharashtra, India.

The Children’s home was started with 7 orphan children and Mr. Amitkumar Banerjee and Mrs. Lata Pande who laid the foundation of the organization in a mud house in the year 1990 at the footsteps of famous Bhaje Caves near Lonavla.

The children’s upbringing and education is in a family environment of care and protection of Project Incharge, Counselor, Social Workers, House Mothers and Tutors who work with the children under guidance and help of Mrs. Ratna Banerjee, Founder Trustee and coordinator of the Project.

Due to Covid-19, Pandemic Period, we are still following all the Government Norms of Sanitation & Hygiene and Safety Measures to protect the Children and to keep them Healthy and Fit – both Physically and Mentally.

ACADEMICS

As per the guidelines issued by State Government of Maharashtra, from 16^th October 2021, children from 6th class to 12th class started attending School. From 20th October 2021, Children from SAMPARC Lily English Medium School have appeared for First Semester Exams in the Schools.

Also other children who are attending Z.P & VPS School from 1^st to 10^th std their school has started but since their first semester exams are scheduled after Diwali Holidays they will be attending school for appearing offline exams.

To study at home, the Children get help from the In-house Staff and Tutor. The Children are provided both Off-line and On-line Tuition / Coaching. Also senior children are helping small children in their studies.

SAMPARC is following all precautionary measures for the safety of the children. The Schools are also following all COVID precautionary measures have conduted offline exams in the schools by following social distancing norms. At present 6th to 10th std children are attending school and as per further guidelines of Government the schools will reopen for Primary Children after Diwali vacation.

Overall Health of the Children is good. Children enjoy playing indoor and outdoor games in the Children's Home playground. Children also do Yoga daily in the morning for good health.

The Children’s home was started with 7 orphan children and Mr. Amitkumar Banerjee and Mrs. Lata Pande who laid the foundation of the organization in a mud house in the year 1990 at the footsteps of famous Bhaje Caves near Lonavla.

The children’s upbringing and education is in a family environment of care and protection of Project Incharge, Counselor, Social Workers, House Mothers and Tutors who work with the children under guidance and help of Mrs. Ratna Banerjee, Founder Trustee and coordinator of the Project.

At the beginning of 2021 we had little light of Hope to be free from Lockdown and to resume the Normal Activities in the Children's Home. But again due to out-break of Massive Second Wave of the Pandemic and High Infection Rate in Maharashtra, again we closed the Main-gate of the Children’s Home to ensure the safety & security of the Children and In-house Staff.

ACADEMICS

This is the First Academic Year (2020-21) during which Children have attended ONLINE SCHOOL throughout the Year.

Computer Lab at the Centre was a boon during this period. SAMPARC in-house Staff coordinated with school teachers and ensured children did not miss out school education, assignments and online competitions. Also meticulous planning of daily schedule helped a lot. Along with online school education, children attended daily classes in the Class Rooms of the Centre. In-house staff along with 1 in-house tutor and senior children daily conducted classes for the children and also coordinated with school and college teachers for online classes, value education classes, computer classes and all online competitions organized by school & college.Also 1 Tutor is conducting online classes for senior children.

As per Maharashtra State Government guidelines, final examinations have been cancelled due to COVID-19 and all children from 1^st to 12^thstd children are now promoted to next class . 10^th & 12^thstd children will be evaluated as per the guidelines issued by State Government of Maharashtra, since final Board Exams are now cancelled due to COVID-19.

The respective Schools have conducted online Final exams in the month of April 2021. The school teachers have sent question papers class wise and in-house staff have conducted the exams in the Centre and have submitted a separate file of all papers of each child in the School & College.

At present children have completed their final exams and are now attending various online classes like – Computers, Spoken English and Summer-vacation activity conducted by volunteers and friends of SAMPARC. The new academic year will be starting soon.

Children spend free time by playing indoor games, drawing, painting and also some children enjoy craft work. Children also enjoy watching T.V by maintaining social distance.

ACADEMICS

Due to COVID-19, children from pre-primary to 10^th std are attending online School. For 9^th & 10^th std the Schools have reopened but SAMPARC is not yet sending the children to school & continuing with online school. 11^th & 12^th std children are attending SAMPARC Lily Junior College with all precautionary measures in place from 8^th December 2020.
In-house staffs are helping children in education by conducting classes for children and coordinating and updating with respective school teachers class wise along with arrangement of regular Online Classes.
SAMPARC Tutors are at present conducting online classes for children and focusing on completing syllabus of 10^th & 12^th std Board Exam.
From 3rd November to 11^th November 2020, 5^th to 10^th std children attending VPS School appeared for First Semester Exam online.
From 5^th November to 11^th November 2020, children attending SAMPARC Abhinav English Medium School appeared for First Semester Exam online.
On 24^th November, VPS School teacher visited Children’s Home and discussed about online classes and progress of children.

Children spend free time by playing indoor games, drawing, painting and also some children enjoy craft work. Children also enjoy watching T.V by maintaining social distance. Children are participating in online competitions organized by school.
