SAMPARC Children’s home, Bhaje for the care of 133 orphan, poor, needy and disadvantaged girl children is situated at the footstep of famous Bhaje Caves, 10Km from Lonavala, District Pune, Maharashtra, India.
The Children’s home was started with 7 orphan children and Mr. Amitkumar Banerjee and Mrs. Lata Pande laid the foundation of the organization in a mud house in the year 1990 at the footsteps of famous Bhaje Caves near Lonavla.
The children’s upbringing and education is in a family environment of care and protection of Project Incharge, Counsellor, Social Workers, House Mothers and Tutors who work with the children under guidance and help of Mrs. Ratna Banerjee, Trustee and coordinator of the Project.
All the children are attending school regularly. The primary school students attend the Zilla Parishad School, Bhaje and few primary school students attend Abhinav English medium school at Patan; the secondary and the high school students attend the VPS School, Bhaje and Senior children attend Lily English Medium School & Junior College, Malavli for 11th and 12th std.
After attending School children receive tutoring in the Children’s Home in all subjects with personal attention. SAMPARC is working with the children along with regular academic education to develop
a) General Knowledge, Reasoning and Logic.
b) Spoken English to improve vocabulary and grammar
c) Strengthening Math Syllabus of the Class.
d) Strengthening Science Syllabus of the Class.
e) Sports / Yoga practice and training.
f) Computer learning.
Supporting by providing Books, equipping Library and to provide Education Stationaries as per the requirement of the students
3 Tutors for teaching the children from Sr.Kg to 12th standard along with 1 Computer Teacher, 1 Spoken English Instructor and 1 Sports Teacher to provide special education support and for the overall development of the children.
Children appearing for 10th std SSC Board exam & 12th std HSC Board Exam are receiving special coaching in the Centre.
During this period children have appeared for First Semester Exam and the result is awaited. After First Semester Exam children enjoyed Diwali vacation and celebrated the festival with lot of enthusiasm. All the children received new dress for Diwali and they also enjoyed having Diwali sweets and snacks which were specially prepared for the children during Diwali.
Every month tutors conduct internal test and the children receive guidance accordingly. Each child is given personal attention and tutors ensure that the children understand the concepts clearly. Also children who are weak in studies receive special attention and guidance from the tutors.
The Social Worker visit school and take the update from the school teachers regarding the education performance of the child. They attend parent teacher meetings and the tutors are updated regarding the same and accordingly the child receives guidance for progress in education.
Education file of each child is maintained and the progress report and academic performance of the child is updated regularly.
Regular training programs, workshops and Life skill sessions on various topics are arranged for the children in the Children’s Homes along with exposure visits for overall development of the children.
Also Children are encouraged to read books in Library and read newspapers daily to help them update themselves regarding day to day happenings and to enhance their General Knowledge.
All the children are progressing well and are looking forward towards a bright future.
