Help an Orphan, Poor and Needy Child attend School

SAMPARC Children’s Home, Bhaje started in year 1990, is working for care of orphan, poor, needy and disadvantaged girl children. The Children’s Home is a Licensed Children’s Home under the Department of Women & Child Welfare, Government of Maharashtra for the care of orphan and disadvantaged children.

134 girl children live in a homely atmosphere of care and support of Social Workers, Counselor, House Mothers, Tutors and sports instructor who work with the children under guidance of Mrs. Ratna Banerjee, Trustee and Coordinator of the Project. All the children are healthy, happy and are attending school regularly.  

During this period children have appeared for Annual Examinations held in the month of March & April 2019 for the academic year 2018-19. 86 children from Jr.kg to 8th std have passed their final Examinations, 15 children appeared for 9th std final exam among them 2 children were unable to pass, they will be reappearing for 9th std final exam again in the month of June 2019. 9 children appeared for 11th std final exam and all of them passed the same. 17 children have appeared for 10th std SSC Board Exam, 3 children have appeared for12th std HSC Board exam and 2 children have appeared for First Year Graduation final exam and the result is awaited. 2 children are pursuing Vocational Training Course.

The primary children attend the Zilla Parishad School, Bhaje the secondary and the high school students attend the VPS School, Bhaje some children also attend the Abhinav English medium schools at Patan and Senior children attend VPS Jr. College, Malavli & Lily English Medium School & Junior College, Malavli for 11th and 12th std and Graduation students attend Walvan College, Lonavla.

After attending School children receive tutoring in the Children’s Home in all subjects with personal attention. 3 Tutors are teaching the children from Jr.Kg to 10th std. Children appearing for 10th std SSC Board exam are receiving special coaching in the Centre. Also 1 Computer Instructor is teaching Computers to children from Jr.Kg to 9th std.

Every month tutors conduct internal test and the children receive guidance accordingly. Each child is given personal attention and tutors ensure that the children understand the concepts clearly. Also children who are weak in studies receive special attention and guidance from the tutors.

The Social Worker visit school and take the update from the school teachers regarding the education performance of the child. They attend parent teacher meetings and the tutors are updated regarding the same and accordingly the child receives guidance for progress in education.

Education file of each child is maintained and the progress report and academic performance of the child is updated regularly.

 Regular training programs, workshops and sessions on various topics are arranged for the children in the Children’s Homes along with exposure visits for overall development of the children.

Also Children are encouraged to read books in Library and read newspapers daily to help them update themselves regarding day to day happenings and to enhance their General Knowledge.

For overall development, children also receive training in Sports in the Children’s Home. Children participate in various sports competitions. During this period children who performed well in NEHRU BLAMELAVA competitions held in the month of December 2018, were selected to participate in Divisional Games conducted by District Women & Child Welfare Office, Pune in the month of February 2019, held in Satara, Maharashtra. Following children have won accolades-

  • Relay(400*100)- Pooja Vanjari, Anjali Chopade, Gauri Hojage, Usha Pawar- 1st Prize 
  • Long Jump - Manisha Pawar - 2nd Prize.
  • Drawing- Priyanka Pawar - 3rd Prize
  • Smart Handwriting competition- Chaitali Sakrikar - 1st Prize

 

 All the children are progressing well and are looking forward towards a bright future.
