Ready to Respond

By Emma | EDV Media and Marketing Director

Youth led projects don’t always get as much attention as they ought to. Sometimes they’re even perceived negatively – as disorganised and inefficient. But we know that working with young people in disaster zones is always time well spent.

These young people will be the force driving long-term recovery, and empowering them by nurturing their interests and partnering with them couldn’t be more important.

In Haiti your generosity allowed us to partner with Haitian youth groups to build trash cans, support sports leagues, and clean up the streets. These projects gave vulnerable young people a chance to learn how to work as a team, budget, and see a project through. Those skills are invaluable.

Your generosity gave Haiti’s future leaders a chance to gain confidence, learn, and grow. Today, as we prepare to deploy whenever and wherever the next disaster strikes, we know that youths around the world will be at the heart of our work.

Together, we can empower young people and help them build a better tomorrow. We hope you’re as excited as we are about what we can achieve in the years to come in disaster zones around the world.

Thanks so much for all you’ve already given, and we look forward to working with you in the future.
