Challenge

There are more than 230,000 children with disabilities living in Ukraine. Thousands of displaced families, many single mothers, are raising children with disabilities without access to essential support. And the ongoing war has made it even more challenging. Children are becoming increasingly isolated and losing vital skills, while their mothers face constant stress with no assistance. Inclusive services were limited even before the war - now the situation is critical.

Solution

Through our program, Mom Has Wings, we will provide children with disabilities inclusive educational activities supported by an art therapist, speech therapist, rehabilitation specialist, and psychologist. Mothers will receive psychological and social support, as well as guidance on child development. For families unable to attend sessions, a mobile team of specialists will provide individualized home-based services, ensuring continuous support, promoting children's development, and daily needs

Long-Term Impact

Litay will establish a sustainable, accessible, comprehensive support system for children with disabilities. Through inclusive activities, psychological, and social support, the project will boost children's development, integration, and reduce isolation. Mothers will gain reduced stress, improved coping, and peer support. This model can scale nationwide, increasing inclusive services, strengthening family resilience, ensuring children's equal opportunities in society.
