Every month, thousands of children contact Childline Thailand seeking safety, support, and emergency assistance. Our 24/7 Call Centre receives calls and messages from vulnerable children every 7 MINUTES. Many are experiencing VIOLENCE, ABUSE, NEGLECT, family conflict, or unsafe situations at home. For some, contacting Childline is the first step toward escaping violence, finding protection, and accessing the support they need to feel safe again.
Children face loneliness, family conflict, abuse, and violence, often without a trusted adult to turn to. These experiences can leave deep emotional scars that affect their safety, mental health, and future well-being. In today's digital world, children also face cyberbullying and online exploitation. In 2022, more than 400,000 children experienced online sexual exploitation, yet only 1-3% reported it. Research also found that 47% of children would not know where to seek help.
Childline Thailand provides free 24/7 access to counselling, crisis support, and child protection services. Trained professionals support children facing abuse, violence, mental health challenges, bullying, and online exploitation. We also connect children to emergency assistance, legal support, and protection services, helping prevent further harm and ensuring children can access safety, care, and justice.
This project strengthens Thailand's child protection system by helping children safely seek support, access protection, and recover from abuse and violence. Through early intervention, counselling, and legal support, Childline Thailand helps reduce trauma, prevent repeated abuse, improve mental well-being, and increase awareness of child safety and children's rights. Over time, more children and families will know where to seek help, creating safer communities for children.
