Across the country, communities are proving that a no-kill future is possible when animal welfare organizations, shelters, foster families, volunteers, and donors work together. Best Friends Animal Society continues to lead this movement by supporting lifesaving programs that help pets stay out of shelters, increase adoptions, expand foster networks, and provide critical resources to local animal welfare partners.
Recent national shelter data shows significant progress toward a no-kill nation. Nearly two-thirds of U.S. shelters have achieved no-kill status, and shelter save rates continue to improve through collaborative, community-based solutions. These results demonstrate that investments in adoption, foster care, spay/neuter initiatives, and shelter support programs directly translate into more lives saved.
Thanks to supporters like you, Best Friends Animal Society is helping create safer, more compassionate communities where every dog and cat has the opportunity to find a loving home. Together, we are building momentum toward a future where healthy and treatable pets are no longer at risk simply because they lack a place to call home.
