By Holly Budge | Founder of How Many Elephants NGO
Six of Ol Pejeta's female rangers recently travelled to Amboseli for a week-long visit with the Lioness Team at Olgulului Conservancy, part of their ongoing commitment to building one of the most skilled and knowledgeable conservation teams in Kenya.
Through joint patrols, community outreach, and knowledge-sharing, they exchanged hard-won expertise and picked up practical approaches to wildlife protection and community engagement. Being alongside a team of women doing this work every day brought fresh perspective and real inspiration.
Ol Pejeta has always believed that to be the best, you learn from the best. Investing in our rangers, their skills, their knowledge, and their development is just as central to their mission as the conservation work itself.
The visit was funded through our World Female Ranger Award scheme - the Lucy Wangari Grant - following her recognition with the World Female Ranger Leadership Award from How Many Elephants.
"We are so grateful to Holly and the How Many Elephants team for their support of rangers like Lucy, and for championing the women on the frontlines of conservation around the world."
A huge thank you to all our supporters who make this vital and impactful conservation work possible.
