PYXERA Global is collecting funds to provide PPE equipment to a collection of waste collectors in Lagos, Nigeria. We continue to work with our partners to attempt to raise additional funds to provide meaningful services as the COVID-19 vaccines are not yet available at scale in Nigeria. We hope to begin 2022 with site visits to provide PPE equipment to waste collectors in these critical waste collection hubs.
Note that waste collector communities in Nigeria are having a difficult time coping with the effects of COVID-19 and we are working with our team on the ground to provide the best services possible to the local community members in need. We will continue to provide updates as interventions begin and we appreciate your efforts.
A coalition of leading global & Nigerian NGOs, PYXERA Global, Wecyclers & RecyclePoints has come together to support these underserved communities. Donations will provide immediate safety and economic relief such as rations, PPEs & medical aid (pop-up clinics), while also developing systemic, community-driven solutions such as registration for basic health insurance.
Since launching the campaign, PYXERA Global is pleased to announce that we are coordinating activities with our Nigerian NGOs, PYXERA Global, Wecyclers & RecyclePoints on the disbursements. These disbursements have allowed us to on coordinate activities in Lagos on providing masks. Activities began in late 2020. We are excited to see the project develop into 2021.
