Heritage Walk Wai
Heritage Walk Wai

Teens or the adolescent stage is a wonderful as well as challenging stage of life. With lot of dreams to achieve, with some confused and mixed feeling Manavya children are moving forward in life.

At this juncture in life, Manavya has to play a role change from a parent to friend, and this transition is very natural is all the people working with Manavya.

Exposure is the prime factor at this age, but the exposure should be assertive and encouraging. The revelation of new aspects increases inquisitiveness, which is the first step to knowledge expansion.

Fun filled Heritage walk:

Nothing can be refreshing and enjoying when education is coupled with fun filled trip. A trip to Wai turned fruitful for Manavya children. Our very own President Dr. Arundhati Sardesai, who is also a renowned educationist enlighten historical knowledge of the children regarding the ancient city of Wai.

Life Skill Educational Workshops:

Life skills help adolescents to transit successfully from childhood to adulthood by healthy development of social and emotional skills. It helps in the development of social competence and problem solving skills, which in turn help adolescents to form their own identity. For the transition into the community we have to prepare the children for the constantly changing environment and it is essential part of being able to meet the challenges of everyday life. Staying in the protect walls of Manavya when moving outside after 18 years, children have to be trained to cope with the increasing pace and change of the modern life is the aim of such workshop.

Inauguration of New project for 18 year boys and girls

Emerging adulthood is characterized by re-evaluation of parent and child relationship. As the child switches from the role of a dependent to the role of fellow adult, the dynamics also need to be changed. It is important that as being parent to these orphan children we need to acknowledge and accept the child status as an adult. This process include gestures such as allowing the child take his own decision and thus allowing increased amounts of privacy.

Manavya has introduced a new project for the girls and boys above 18 years. Where we have separated the girls and boys who are above 18 years within the premise of our residential care unit.

Manavya an organization which is HIV children rehabilitation center, where we are custodians to these children from the age group of 6 to 18 years. Irrespective of this age limit children are retained at the institution till the time they are self-independent. For boys it generally completion of education and girls, it is standing on ones feet or even starting a married life.

For girls and boys to make them independent is very important because not that they can live with dignity, but to help them get the educated life partner. Staying in the residential care unit makes these girls and boys, less exposed to the world outside.

This project of us is to help these girls and boys to understand the purpose of their life. Staying at the residential care unit in spite of having the wings these girls and boys are unaware how to fly. After separating from the flock we are trying to help these girls and boys to think and act independently.
