Thanks to donors like you, this past September, Career Girls hosted the fourth of six virtual camps planned for 2022. From September 22 - 24, Career Girls welcomed girls from the United States, Canada, and worldwide for a 3-day intensive camp focused on Preparing for College. During the camp, girls learned what it takes to get into college from women experts in education and college admissions. They discovered how to write about achievements and the power of presenting their authentic selves to college admissions officers from women experts at LinkedIn. In addition, the College Board guided them through developing a “countdown to college” timeline and identifying their ideal college major and career options.
One of the most exciting parts of camp is seeing the impact of our programming in action. For example, one of our goals is to build confidence and self-esteem in girls. During the Preparing for College Virtual Camp, girls learned valuable confidence-building skills through an exercise in one of the daily breakout groups. The activity focused on believing in yourself and the way that we communicate this belief to others.
Thanks to the generous support of people like you, Career Girls reached our goal of welcoming girls to six Virtual Camps in 2022, continuing to provide them free of charge for every girl who wants to attend. In October, we welcomed campers to our Cybersecurity camp, and in November, we welcomed girls to the Web3, Blockchain, and NFT camp. With your continued support, Career Girls will welcome girls to six Virtual Camps in 2023 and can continue to serve girls worldwide and close The Imagination Gap. Thank you for your support!
Warm regards,
Linda
