Every day at SPARC is filled with activities that are engaging! We create our day on a philosophy called "Circuit Train Your Brain!" The pedagogy behind our day is that we offer guided learning by rpoviding each participant options to choose from that best meet their interests.
For example, at Arlington Mill, the entire group chose to enjoy a therapeutic yoga class. Then we split into groups. One group faced off in a mini marshamallow spoon relay race! The winner managed to complete the course with 15 marshamallows in his spoon! The competition was fierce and a good time was had by all.
For those who could not hold a spoon, they engaged in an art activity creating spooky decorations for our upcoming Halloween Party!
Everyone pulled out their lunches and enjoyed friendly conversation while taking a break.
After lunch one group took a guided mindfulness walk along a trail by the center; another discussed a book they are reading; and a third group worked with sensory bags.
At SPARC our participants do not fit into our program. We create a day around each individual's interests. That is why our friends are enjoying their best life!
Thank you for ensuring that our friends can enjoy the same day you and I look forward to.
