Still Waiting for Support: Olena's Family Faces a

her two daughters — a family who were forced to leave their home in Kherson and start their lives from scratch after experiencing occupation. Unfortunately, during this period, the family has still not received financial assistance under this project, and their situation remains extremely difficult.
Olena is raising two children on her own in Kryvyi Rih without a stable income. Shelling continues in Kryvyi Rih. Her younger daughter, Vira, has a severe disability and requires constant care, special nutrition, and medication, without which she is at risk of pain and seizures. Her older daughter, Angelina, continues her studies and helps her mother at home as much as she can. Despite all their efforts, the family is forced to choose between the bare necessities every day.
This winter, the challenges have become even greater. Cold weather, snow, and low temperatures make everyday life much more difficult for the family. Limited ability to leave the house, difficulties accessing doctors, problems with heating and electricity—all of this has become part of their reality. Like many other vulnerable families in Ukraine, they are forced to find ways to keep warm and simply survive the winter in conditions of constant resource shortages.
Supporting this family is not just about material assistance. It is about making them feel that they are not alone with their pain and trials. Even a small contribution can provide warmth in a cold room, necessary medicine, or a chance for children to live a little more peacefully.
We sincerely thank everyone who supports this project and the families affected by the war. Your solidarity and compassion give hope where it is so easy to lose it and help to preserve dignity and faith in the future even in the darkest times.

Her home is gone, but Olena's faith still stands

After fleeing occupied Kherson, Olena and her two daughters are trying to start a new life in Kryvyi Rih. Their story is one of struggle for survival and love for their children, despite all their losses. The younger daughter, eight-year-old Vira, has a severe disability and needs constant care, special nutrition and medication to avoid seizures and pain. The older daughter, Angelina, helps her mother at home and continues her education, dreaming that their family will one day feel safe again.
Olena does not have a stable income. Vera's treatment costs about £240 per month, but the family only receives £60 in state aid. The rest is an amount they cannot cover on their own. In addition, they have to pay rent, buy hygiene products and special food. Our Save Ukraine team supports the family by helping them with medical paperwork, finding doctors, and preparing to purchase medicines. We remain close by and are ready to act immediately as soon as the funds are raised. All donations received as part of this project will be used to pay rent, purchase medicines, and help the family adapt to their new living conditions.
‘We lost our home, but not our faith,’ says Olena, showing photos of the destroyed house. "The main thing is that we are together. I just dream that my children will have peace, warmth, and a chance for a better future."
Supporting this family is a chance to restore their dignity and make them feel that they are not alone. Even a small contribution can be a lifesaver: it will turn into medicine for Vira, a roof over the family's head, and an opportunity for Angelina to continue her education.
We sincerely thank everyone who stands by those affected by the war. Together, we help them not only to survive, but also to believe that life can be peaceful and dignified again.
