Preface
Another remarkable quarter completed. Organization with its vision to make special children the self-reliant members of the society, has broadened its spectrum of services by introducing 5 Community Based Resource in the suburbs of Lahore to serve as many special children as possible. Organization also held awareness seminars regarding Inclusive Education to introduce the public with the idea of Inclusive Education where all children; normal and special, can learn together under one roof because “those who learn together, learn to live together”.
Gosha E Aafiyat (Sheltered Workshop & Sheltered Home)
As the name of this project depicts, it will be a secured place of comfort, ease and coziness for adults with special needs. Gosha-e-Aafiyat will provide a sheltered environment for semi-skilled and skilled adults with special needs to either work and earn under supervision of normal adults and after acquiring required skills move to open job market. Second aspect of this project addresses problems faced by adults with special needs, once they lose their family support. Gosha-e-Aafiyat will provide them with a secure and homely place to live. The project is planned to start working for vocational workshop in the month of September 2019.
International Special Olympics World Summer Games Abu Dhabi
We stood distinguished in International Special Olympics World Summer Games 2019 held in Abu Dhabi - UAE. Students of Rising Sun Institute for Special Children won a total of 9 Medals in the event including 2 Gold, 2 Bronze and 5 Silver medals. Alhamdulillah, a great achievement to bring pride to Pakistan. Well done team Rising Sun!
World Day for Autism
Our campuses were all covered in different shades of blue as parents, children & staff were celebrating Autism Awareness day. Mr. Afsar Mahmood, CEO. Expeditors International Pakistan was the honorable chief guest. Dr. Hina Fazil, Assistant Prof. Special Education dept. Punjab University discussed different aspects of sensory problems with the parents & teachers. And celebrations became more colorful with the performances of Students from section for Autism Spectrum disorder.
Last words
This all becomes possible with the kind support of our donors and well-wishers. We hope that the support they give us for the noble cause of serving these little angles will remain with us forever.
