Progress of our Family Farm Program

By Salin Loeum | Community and Education Manager

It is a program, which provides a chemical-free farming technique to villagers, especially farmers. We want them to take more advantage of their land by using this farming skill to earn more income to support their families. Furthermore, we include some more important life skill lessons to better their lives such as money management, family happiness, and child protection.

This year we got eleven students, however, most of them decided to stop, as they had to work far away from home. We had only two students willing to keep learning with us. They are poor and work as construction workers.

As a result, they have just finished the training at the end of July 2017. They have understood the lesson well and have applied what they have learned at their houses such as stop using chemical fertilizer and pesticide, make compost fertilizer, make natural pesticide, and grow some vegetables using the chemical-free technique.

Our trainer will keep following up with them to offer more advices and make sure they continue growing vegetables with no chemical use and can earn a living with this skill.
