Empower 300 children and women to overcome poverty

“Before I never thought about my goal in life and I just so worry about my future, but after I attended sewing and life skill at Human and Hope Association, I understand that it is so important. After I graduate sewing, I will go to work outside as a seamstress and then I will save money to set up a sewing shop in my village”.

Chanty lives in a big family of 7 people and she is the oldest sister. She forced to stop studying in grade 11 when she was 19 because her parents cannot afford her to study and she had to help their work to earn money on farming, growing vegetables and  doing housework.

When she had been told from her uncle about our sewing program, she was interested because she thought that she would gain a skill and able to earn money to help her family. Then she came to HHA, so she got a chance to learn sewing with us.

She was so happy and enjoyed the class so much. After just three months in our beginner class she took out our sewing machine loan, so she can practice her skill and also to earn money at home. Through her commitment and study hard, Chanty has successful completed our ten months sewing course.

Chanty has a full range of sewing skill, and in addition to that she has gained good knowledge from our life skill lessons, which developed her into self-sufficiency and her emotional intelligence.

Chanty's goal of having a job in sewing after graduated has been achieved. She is now working for a great company and earn $130 per month, plus other benefits. This is a very good start of income for her that she can earn for the first time in life.
