*Sokha comes from a poor economic background family. Her mother, Saney, after graduated from our sewing class, we hired her as our seamstress. Now she has stopped working for us and running her own sewing shop at her house. When *Sokha was 8, Saney sent her to study English at HHA. She started studying English from the basic level and also joint our Khmer class to improve her Khmer Knowledge. We have supported her with study materials through our opportunity scholarship program.
“ I like studying English at HHA. My teacher teaches me very well. Now I can speak English with my teacher and friends. I want to be a doctor in the future.” *Sokha
Recently, she is studying level 3 of our English book. After joining our programs for more than two years, her Khmer and English have remarkably improved as she becomes one of the top students both at public school and at HHA.
“ I’m very happy and proud of my daughter because she gets a better result both at public school and at HHA and has the ability to speak English with her classmates and teachers. She is very interested in English. She doesn’t want to miss the class even one day. Every night I try to encourage her to study at home.”Saney
*Sokha is not her real name due to our child protection policy.
