Great News from Expand Casa Hogar!

Hi All!

I'm really excited to say that yesterday we received a donation that put our total over $4,000 meaning that we have completed the GlobalGiving Winter Open Challenge! In fact we have exceeded it by over $1,000!  By doing so we have earned ourselves a permanent spot on the GlobalGiving website which immensely hightens our chances of achieving our $50,000 goal quickly. The projects success owes itself completely to you all and those who contributed by sharing our links and spreading the word. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity and support.

In addition to our online efforts we participated in two weeks of an alternative giving event at First United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas, where we were able to raised over $800. Also, a young lady in Switzerland collected over $400 by presenting the project at a neighborhood dinner. Way to go! We are now awaiting a photography showing by Alejandro Silveyra at Magnolia Cafe in Austin which will take place in February and a concert in Switzerland the proceeds of which will go directly to Expand Casa Hogar. On top of this, we have been contacting local entities and making arrangements for future fundraising events.

We must not forget that the $5,130 we have now is only a small portion of our $50,000 goal. We hope that you will continue to support us and spread our project around your community whether by word of mouth, e-mail, Facebook, snail mail or any other manner that you might prefer.

We have done very well so far and there is no reason we cannot continue this way! These children need our help and they need it now.

Again, thank you for everything you have done for this project! May you have a wonderful holiday season.

With gratitude,

Ariana Zaia
