Support 430 children with cancer in Colombia!

We invite you to keep on bringing happiness to hospitals and clinics!

We want to tell you about the progress of our art-therapy program. Every week we are present in two hospitals of the city, to accompany children receiving treatment and to provide emotional support to their parents. Currently there are more than 70 children participating in activities in their own rooms or at the chemotherapy room. Our art-therapists prepare different proposals to seize the leisure time making their stay at the hospital nicer.

We commit to 4 visits a week to the hospitals and clinics we have agreements with, for a grand total of 116 visits during this year.

At Funcolombiana we consider it very important to work with children and their care takers regarding their fears, anxiety and dreams. We achieve this through art-therapy proposals including games, drawings, origami and many other things, which allow feelings to be expressed and make it easier to adapt to the changes brought about by the diagnosis and treatment.

Omar is a patient with an Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia diagnosis who, despite the disease, express happiness and optimism about a speedy recovery. He enjoys the company of Adriana our art-therapist, and shares with her all the proposed activities. Just like him, many children appreciate and cherish our efforts to make their life inside the hospital less hard.
