From the Colombian Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation we continue working with commitment to benefit children with cancer.
In recent weeks we have held different workshops with the children in the chemotherapy room. The workshops have been led by a final year medical student, who in a creative and playful way has accompanied the children, providing hours of well-being and entertainment for them and their mothers. In the workshops the children have learned more about their body, about their blood cells and their functions. They have played to represent red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, it has been really fun. They have also learned about self-care recommendations to prevent infections and have painted viruses and bacteria to get to know them better.
Paula is 10 years old and is receiving treatment for acute leukemia, says that she likes the doctor's activities because that way she forgets about the pain and she stops feeling nauseous from chemotherapy. Also, her mother is happy because now Paula spends less time on the Tablet and socializes more with other children.
We love bringing wellness to children with cancer.
What do you think of our workshops? Would you like to contribute with this wonderful proposal?
