Title: Bringing Smiles to Flood-Affected Children in Jalalpur
Summary
In response to the devastating floods, Alkhidmat has set up tent schools in Jalalpur camp, ensuring that children do not lose access to education. Currently, 300 children are enrolled and attending classes across 3 tent schools, bringing hope and continuity in learning for families struggling to rebuild their lives.
Story / Update
When the floods struck Jalalpur, hundreds of families lost not only their homes but also the sense of normalcy and safety that schools provide for children. In the camp where 378 families (around 2,800 individuals) are living, children were left with no access to education, play, or routine.
To address this urgent need, Alkhidmat established 3 tent schools, giving 300 children a safe space to learn, grow, and smile again. These tent schools are equipped with basic school kits, books, and dedicated teachers who conduct regular classes.
For children who witnessed the trauma of displacement, these schools are more than just a place of learning—they are a source of joy, stability, and hope for a brighter tomorrow. Parents have expressed relief knowing their children can continue their education despite the crisis.
