This year, U-YOGA UGANDA's project will be supporting 320 young girls' education in Kyegegwa district, which recorded over 4034 teenage pregnancies during COVID-19 pandemic and it has been accumulating since pandemic leading to school drop-outs. U-YOGA UGANDA plans to provide scholastic materials, fees support and empower skills trainings to young mothers for self-sustainability.
Teenage pregnancies resulting into school drop-outs,early marriage and child negligence among girls has increased in district and the whole country since COVID-19 pandemic.
The project will support the education of 320 affected vulnerable young girls in the refugee camp of Kyaka 2 settlement and hosting communities. It will provide scholastic materials, support on school fees,support vulnerable adolescent girls to keep in school and empower entrepreneurship skills trainings to non-school goers for self-sustainability and Academic Freedom will support SEL skills materials and life readiness
The project will transform 320 girls' lives through education and resources.We will show-case their benefits and potential after assistance has been delivered. This project will help to support current and future victims with the hardships of being young and impoverished pregnant child in Uganda . This project will be a measurable approach to provide education and strengthen lives of young girls and establish the support and resources for a better life even after Teenage pregnancies.
