Our News

By Gulmira Abeldinova | Kasietty zhol President

In the first 5 months of 2022, our foundation has done a great job.

Now on the basis of the fund there is one rehabilitation center in Shymkent. From January to May 2022, 249 children with cerebral palsy from low-income families underwent a rehabilitation for free.

Thanks to the stabilization of the situation with Covid-19, we were able to start training our specialists again. We train not only the employees of our center, but also invite colleagues from other centers from the regions of Kazakhstan.

During this period, we conducted 2 training courses:

In February, the course "Practical application of the ICF in the activities of rehabilitation institutions" conducted by our mentor Galina Kovaleva, which was completed by 30 specialists from Atyrau, Nur-Sultan and Shymkent and at the end of the course they received the certificates.

The ICF is a tool that allows the rehabilitation process to take into account both the developmental problems of the child and the social aspects and their impact on his daily life. This document summarizes the basic principles that must be observed in order to ensure that the best results of the rehabilitation process are achieved in the shortest possible time.

Therefore, we consider learning the basics of the ICF and its principles very important for Kazakhstani specialists.

Director of the "Kzhol Shymkent" center Saltanat Koshenova shared her impressions about the course: "The ICF is the basis on which our work is based. Therefore, even working in rehabilitation for a long time, we learned a lot in these 4 days. I bow to the skill of our mentor - to present the essence and involve the audience. Despite the complexity of the material, the guys' eyes burned, and they tried very hard."

Galina Kovaleva: “Here at the Kzhol Shymkent center they don’t put labels on people who have some kind of special needs, but look for ways to help, train and develop in order to unlock the potential that every person has. So that children, regardless of their features, were able to realize themselves, develop and reach great heights in their life.

In April, 33 specialists from 5 rehabilitation centers in the cities of Atyrau, Nur-Sultan and Shymkent completed the course " Fundamentals of Therapeutic Taping in Children" (Professor Fidel Subbotin).

Our specialists have used taping as an additional tool in the rehabilitation process before. This course was aimed at deepening knowledge, strengthening the skills of applying teips also in the context of the principles of the ICF.

"For 5 days, we were engaged in developing the basic skills of not only therapeutic taping, but also rehabilitation approaches to applying the principles of the ICF in the rehabilitation of children and understanding movement therapy.

The group worked very energetically, there were many clarifying questions. It is always a pleasure to deal with specialists who understand the direction of their work.

I hope that the knowledge gained during the course, the skills they have mastered and the skills they have acquired will improve the quality of the patients' rehabilitation process. Many thanks to the organizers for the excellent organization of the event, for the well-trained specialists!" - the mentor shared his impressions of working with our specialists.

Thank you for supporting the work of our foundation - together we are doing an important job!
