By Michelle Kreger | Project Leader
We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our generous donors on Global Giving for all of the support they have provided for this project. We are delighted to report that we have served, since inception, over 45,000 families in Darfur with improved cooking solutions This means that over 1/4 million people have benefited from access to our stoves, saving them time, money, and exposure to harmful cooking smoke.
As we move into 2016, we have been working hard to transition our work to our local implementing partners in Darfur, Sudan. In an effort to transition to full economic sustainability, we will no longer raise additional grant funds for this project. Instead, the project will continue through the sale of stoves as well as through a carbon finance project that we have been working with project developers to build out. Because of this, we are choosing to close out our project on Global Giving.
Again, thank you so much to everyone who has supported this important work! We look forward to continuing to update you on what we do on our website, www.potentialenergy.org
Best,
The Potential Energy Team
