At Emergination Africa, we have identified 65 in school and out of school learners, 13 ventures (led by these learners aged 18-22) and are nurturing these African youths with entrepreneurial skills; then equipping them with seed funding, networks and mentorship to turn business ideas into real-world products and services that go to market and improve their livelihoods and those of their communities. We are seeking funding to further capacitate the ventures we have identified through programs.
Since 2021, the Virtual Innovation Accelerator (VIA) program has incubated of 13 learner ventures. These ventures have shown promising progress, albeit facing certain obstacles that impede their expansion. They have achieved crucial milestones like company registration, acquisition of necessary machinery, and production initiation. Although they've been successful in creating a market for their products, they're finding it challenging to fulfill the demand due to a lack of sufficient resources.
If successful 25 learner ventures will have funds to acquire necessary machinery, cover production space costs, conduct research, and launch marketing campaigns to meet their product demand. This will not only generate employment opportunities but also address community issues (i.e., food processing, malnutrition, community health) that these ventures aim to resolve. Our learners will be able to at least 3x it in one year which is a game changer for them, their families and their communities.
The project will help promote inclusive economic growth driven by young people which is in line with the United Nations SDG indicator 4.4 of substantially increasing the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills, including technical and vocational skills, for employment, decent jobs, and entrepreneurship. 25 youths will be able to create employment for themselves and others. We are addressing poverty head on by empowering young people to create employment and help their communities.
