This project will ensure that we are able to continue supporting our children beyond 2020. Thandanani needs your support to ensure the continued well-being and education of 22 vulnerable children in Zandspruit, Johannesburg, South Africa. But their future is in jeopardy as donors understandably redirect their funds to Covid-19 relief initiatives.
The Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa is expected to peak in Sept 2020, and a high percentage of available financial resources are increasingly being directed to Covid-19 relief initiatives, thus depriving us as a children's home of our usual level of support. Not only do we still need to feed and educate our children, but we've also incurred additional costs such as the data costs to conduct online education and the costs of personal protective equipment.
We need to be able to continue providing a stable loving home environment to our children at this difficult time, to ensure that notwithstanding the pandemic their education will not be prejudiced.
This project will ensure that we can continue to achieve our ultimate goals for these children which is to ensure that these youngsters who would otherwise have been lost to society, are maturing into responsible young adults, who are resilient and have the will to achieve something positive in life.
