Many elderly individuals in rural Tamil Nadu continue to live below the poverty line, struggling to access adequate food, healthcare, and social support. With minimal pensions, limited mobility, and rising living costs, many seniors—especially widows and those without family caregivers—remain highly vulnerable to malnutrition and illness. Social isolation and lack of consistent assistance further worsen their condition.
This project addresses the urgent need by providing essential nutrition support to 2,000 vulnerable elderly citizens. With just $10 per person per year, the initiative ensures access to basic food supplies that help improve strength, immunity, and overall well-being. Regular follow-ups and community outreach help identify the most at-risk seniors and ensure support reaches them consistently.
During this quarter, nutrition kits were successfully distributed across selected rural communities, prioritizing bedridden and marginalized elders. Beneficiaries reported improved energy levels, reduced food insecurity, and greater peace of mind. The program continues to restore dignity, promote healthier aging, and strengthen community-based care for vulnerable senior citizens.
