Support 14 Schools to Integrate Agribusiness Skills will equip young people with practical agribusiness and entrepreneurship skills for income generation and job creation. AaP will support 14 schools to strengthen hands-on agribusiness projects, helping students gain skills in the WoW, and experience in production, marketing, and financial literacy. The project aims to reach 5,000 young people and prepare them for self employment, and the World of Work.
Many young people complete school without sufficient practical skills and experience to transition successfully into self employment, entrepreneurship, and the World of Work. Although agriculture is an important part of the economy, agricultural education in many schools remains largely theoretical, with limited opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience. Schools and Agriculture Teachers often face challenges accessing learning resources, agricultural inputs, and support.
This project will address the gap between theoretical learning and practical experience by supporting 14 schools in Wakiso District to integrate hands-on agribusiness skills into students' learning. AaP will work with schools and Agriculture Teachers to provide guidance, learning resources, and support for practical school-based agribusiness projects. Students will actively participate in planning, establishing, managing, and evaluating crop and livestock enterprises.
By strengthening practical agricultural education in 14 schools, this project will create lasting opportunities for 5,000 young people in Wakiso District. Students will gain agribusiness, entrepreneurship, and sustainable agriculture skills for employment and self-employment. Teachers and schools will also build capacity to continue hands-on learning, creating a lasting pathway to stronger livelihoods.
