The 10th National Deaf Cricket Championship by DWAF is a national initiative promoting inclusion, empowerment, and sports opportunities for Deaf athletes in Pakistan. It brings together 18 Deaf teams from across the country on a single platform to showcase talent, build confidence, and encourage equal participation. The event also raises awareness about the Deaf community and promotes inclusion through sports, leadership, and community engagement.
Deaf youth in Pakistan face limited access to inclusive sports opportunities, leading to exclusion from mainstream competitions and reduced visibility of their talent. Lack of structured platforms, resources, and accessibility in sports prevents them from showcasing their abilities, building confidence, and gaining recognition. The Deaf Cricket Championship addresses this gap by providing an inclusive national platform for empowerment, participation, and equal opportunity in sport.
This project will provide a structured and inclusive national platform where Deaf athletes can participate in competitive cricket with proper support, communication access, and equal opportunity. By organizing trained teams, accessible coordination, and professional-level matches, it will help build confidence, teamwork, and visibility for Deaf youth. The championship will also promote inclusion by engaging communities and reducing stigma, while creating pathways for future sports development.
The long-term impact of this project is the sustainable inclusion of Deaf youth in mainstream sports & society. It will strengthen confidence, leadership & teamwork among Deaf athletes while creating continuous opportunities for talent recognition at national level.Over time, this initiative will help reduce stigma, increase public awareness & encourage institutions to invest in inclusive sports. It will also build a pipeline for future Deaf cricketers, promoting equal participation & empowerment
