Inadequate nutrition cum lack of adequate nutrients before and during pregnancy, pose a grave danger to the expectant mother, the unborn child and, even after birth. A child with inadequate nutrients supply if lucky to survive, may grow into adults who cannot contribute meaningfully to societal growth. The short and long term objectives of this project is to have a healthy mother before and after birth with a child who will grow to become a brilliant adult.
Despite scarce resources, Oak Rural Health Organization has been able to impact positively on no fewer than 300 pregnant women. Our recent rounds of low cost antenatal services and distribution of prenatal nutrients supplements and consumables, is a huge success. It has enabled the local economically disadvantaged women to avail themselves of professional services. Many of them have delivered safely and now attend the infant welfare clinic.
However, the progress of the project has been slowed by lack of sufficient funding which has not allowed us to fully implement all the project plans. Your generous donations at this moment will enable us to help more vulnerable pregnant women and, we together will achieve a progressive decline in global maternal and child mortality.
