Financial incapability is a major barrier in accessing a skilled professional services in many nigerian rural settings. Especially when it comes to pregnancy care and delivery. Majority of the women chose to patronize unskilled birth attendants in search of cheap services, which often earn them a costlier result. Purchasing basic consumables needed for a clean and healthy birth is a huge burden to an economically disadvantaged pregnant woman. Oak Rural Health Organization designs projects and incorporate programs that positively influences the health seeking behaviors of the rural pregnant women.
No fewer than 25 women benefited from birthing kits distribution. Distribution of birthing kits is a key component of this project implementation plan to relief the women of financial burden associated with pregnancy and child birth. Also, encourage the women to recieve pregnancy care from skilled health workers. There is a gradual increase in the number of antenatal bookings at our project center. The women are increasingly becoming aware of the need to access care from skilled health workers rather than patronizing quacks.
We have been able to achieve big with the little resources. We can achieve bigger with a bigger resources, your generous donation will help us to reach more pregnant women and offer them the needed care in pregnancy and delivery.
