Title: Empowering Women Through Skills – 50 Sewing Machines Distributed in Lahore

Summary

Alkhidmat Foundation distributed 50 sewing machines among deserving women in Lahore, enabling them to start home-based businesses and support their families with dignity. This initiative is part of Alkhidmat’s ongoing commitment to women’s economic empowerment and livelihood restoration.

Story / Update

Many women in low-income communities face limited employment opportunities and financial hardship, especially in the aftermath of floods and rising inflation. To help them regain stability and self-reliance, Alkhidmat Foundation organized a sewing machine distribution event in Lahore.

Through this initiative, 50 skilled and deserving women received sewing machines—allowing them to earn a sustainable income from tailoring and embroidery work. The project promotes financial independence, strengthens household resilience, and uplifts entire families through women’s empowerment.

The distribution ceremony also included motivational talks on entrepreneurship and self-reliance, inspiring participants to use their skills to build a better future for themselves and their children.

Beneficiaries

  • Direct Impact: 50 deserving women received sewing machines.

  • Indirect Impact: Families and communities benefiting from increased household income and empowerment.

Impact

  • Created new livelihood opportunities for vulnerable women.

  • Enhanced financial stability and self-reliance.

  • Promoted women’s participation in local economic activity.

Next Steps

Alkhidmat Foundation plans to expand the Women Skill Development Program by establishing additional training centers and providing more sewing machines and small business support to deserving women across Pakistan.
