This project will rescue girls from abuse and provide support to survivors. Vulnerable girls are often whose parents have died mostly as a result of AIDS. TaLI provides such survivors with medical assistance to prevent HIV or to provide support where they are HIV positive. We provide Counselling to victims and their parents, We rescue them from abusive environments, We report and follow abuse cases with police and support through justice system/courts and Reintegration with families.
Zimbabwean government does not have finances to support the Psycho Social Support system and services for survivors of abuse currently. The responsible departments do depend on non profit organisations like TaLI to provide survivors and victims of sexual and all forms of abuse financial support to ensure availability of services and safety. TaLI has had to come up with resources to ensure that victims especially girls get access to needed justice. Todate more than 60girls received help TaL
This Project will provide ability to ever arising cases of abuse with relief for the girls to be able to access support in the time they go through the difficulty of abuse. Most families cannot afford transport to go to the clinic with an abused child, this will also link the children with counselling services, justice system so that they are restored atleast as close to normal for their life as possible. Atleast 100 girls will be assisted to come out of abusive environments
The girls will have access to Education and normal life, and being able to enjoy their Human Rights and their dignity restored. When girls go through abuse, they become less confident, and most times cannot fairly participate in school, or simply they drop out of school sometimes actually get married. This project will ensure that they are supported to remain in school, and to ensure that they get justice thereby restoring their Socio-Economic potential to participate fully as citizens.
