Introduction

Our project ensures children will have a sense of belonging and they will take pride in being apart of our program and demonstrate care, compassion and mutual respect towards themselves and each other. Our teachers are changing lives.

Report

Many school across South Africa still do not have access to electricity and the local government predict it will take a minimum of 14 years for them to tackle this issue. Students often walk to school for over 1 hour each way and classrooms are overcrowded, un-safe, poorly resourced and do not provide an adequate education to train future minds to tackle the global issues. The system is failing.

Our local school is registered as a non profit and provides children with a safe and nurturing education full of rich opportunities to learn. We provide a diverse, multicultural and non-discriminating approach, where differing needs, cultures and abilities are respected and valued within inclusive learning environments. Accessing different funding opportunities and gifts from our supporters we are able to provide early childhood development lessons at the school to inspire young minds early.

.

Please remember the little by little campaign in April 3-7 where if you donate up to $50, GlobalGiving will match it at 50%.

Thank you for your support

Happy Halloween
Happy Halloween

Dear Supporters,

We currently have around 120 children with us and while due to funding we have not been able to provide services everyday we still do the most we can and we have already seen a massive improvement in the children we work with, this shows how your donations are going towards making a huge difference.

Sadly last week we had to temporarily close doors and not directly due to funding, it's a massively sad time for our staff as after COVID we wanted to help kickstart education again. The township where our early childhood centre is based is next to a school and both of us have been struggling with a seriously backed up sewage issue, after investigation it is due to the backlog from the local township and this has left the site dangerous to health so we decided to close.

We are fighting daily with government officials for help but our option is to raise 100,000ZAR ($6,500US) to have our own private system installed allowing us to re-open. Although expensive, all our children do not have toilets in their shacks at home so wait to come to school to use the toilets therefore we have a very high usage of our toilet system and therefore this is now a critical and urgent project we must fundraise for before we can safely open up.

We will keep everyone updated and hope that we raise the funds to open again soon!

Thanks,

Tyler
