In 2023, Digital Access was organized in Yaoundé, Cameroon, the 4th edition of the Digital Innovation and Internet Forum. The 4th edition of FINU was held online from November 23 to 24, 2023 under the theme: Building sustainable digital innovations with a healthy Internet.
During the last edition, the Promoter of this forum, Rigobert Kenmogne, declared during the launch that FINU is an important and inclusive platform for building ideas to shape the digital ecosystem and innovative projects. It is a framework in which multi-stakeholder conversations on the challenges of the internet, digital innovation, and digital policies are addressed to build sustainable actions.
In 2024, Digital Access is actively preparing for the 5th edition to be held under the theme: Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation. The 5th edition plans to be held online and in person. Since 2023, Digital has not been able to award innovative projects due to lack of funding. Our fundraising efforts have not been effective. We intend to obtain the necessary funding to finance the projects.
Strategic meetings are underway and we are planning a call for proposals for 2024 and 2025. The targets for calls for proposals are members of civil society, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content providers, regulators, standardization bodies, researchers and universities, Internet users, and hardware and software manufacturers.
FINU24 will be held based on the recommendations of the 4th edition held from 23 to 24 November 2023 to build debates around real solutions and address the main concerns of digital challenges sustainably.
Digital Access is one of the leading social organizations in digital promotion, digital rights, freedom of expression, and the fight against hate speech in Cameroon, and has been organizing FINU since 2018. The Digital Access team has developed a new forum website available at: https://finu.digital-access.org/
