Support 10 innovate projects in Cameroon

Digital Access organize the 5th edition of Digital Innovation and Internet Forum from Agust 22 to 23, 2025. This edition will be hybrid. The last edition organised from November 23 to 24, 2023 in Yaoundé, Cameroon under the theme: Building sustainable digital innovations with a healthy Internet. The Promoter of the Forum, Rigobert Kenmogne, declared during the launching of the event that "FINU is an important and inclusive platform for building ideas to shape the digital ecosystem and innovative projects". It is a framework in which multi-actor conversations on the challenges of the internet, digital innovation and digital policies are addressed to build sustainable actions. “Since 2018, FINU has contributed to the debates on the development of digital technology in Cameroon and Africa through recommendations for improving the axes of the Cameroon Digital 2020 strategic plan for ICT ecosystem. FINU must continue to build reflections on the contribution of digital technology to Cameroon and Africa. Cameroon has a National Development Strategy (SND 30) to which digital technology must contribute for effective implementation, he adds. FINU 2023 recorded 550 registered on the different platforms. Around 200 participants took part in the various sessions and engaged online on the platforms. The call for proposals recorded 14 sessions which were scheduled. Applications came from members of civil society, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), content providers, regulators, standards organizations, researchers and universities, Internet users, and hardware and software manufacturers. A strategic meeting was organized as a prelude to this edition. FINU23 was held based on the recommendations of the 3rd edition held from November 26 to 28, 2020 to build debates around real solutions and respond to the main concerns of digital challenges in a sustainable manner. We have postponed the awarding of prizes to innovators due to insufficient support. We continue to hope for support for the realization. We have also already set up a committee to better prepare for the 2025 Forum on 21 to 22 August. FINU is organized by Digital Access with the collaboration of technical institutions, and associated partners. Digital Access is one of the leading social organizations in the field of promoting digital technology, digital rights, and freedom of expression, and in the fight against hate speech in Cameroon has been organizing FINU since 2018.
