MMW has been sending volunteer acupuncturists to Nepal for nine years. Every year you help us to continue our work by donating funds to help us buy supplies, keep working on our new clinic which was destroyed by the earthquake. This year we wish to highlight the stories of our volunteers and patients over the last 9 years. Please donate to help us continue the work which has changed the lives of so many volunteers AND patients.
Funds are needed to supply our clinic with needles, herbs, sheets, pay for volunteer housing and basic food for volunteer and Nepali staff while they treat up to 50 patients per day. We are also working to complete the new health clinic which replaces the one destroyed by the 2015 earthquake in Nepal.
Funds will go directly to recruiting and staffing our clinics with the best trained acupuncture volunteers in the country, stocking our pharmacy with needles and herbs to treat all types of patients from those with diabetes, paralysis from stroke, acute dysentery, and to keep our doors open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for these patients most in need.
Most of our patients in Chanaute are subsistence farmers. They eat and trade what they grow. By working with these individual patients, treating their ailments, relieving their pain, providing therapy for their injuries, will ensure that they can work their fields again so that their families have food to eat and shelter to live in.
