In many communities in Senegal, youth lack opportunities to grow. The NDAW ACADEMIE believes in the development of youth and unlocking potential trough sports and education. We organise sports camps in disadvantaged communities. We offer trainings and create life-changing experiences. We believe that sports and academics are powerful tools for change and hope. With sports, skills-building, and mentorship, we build confidence and provide the tools needed for a better future on and off the court.
In Senegal about 25% of the population, or 4 million people, are youth between the ages of 15 and 29. Roughly 2,8 million are not attending school and are part of the labor force but close to 50% of those in the labor force are unemployed due to lack of education, skills and opportunities.
Sports and academics provide powerful tools for change, opportunities and hope. With sports, we create life-changing pathways for young people who might otherwise be excluded. Through our camps, which provide gear, mentorship, and skills-training we empower the next generation, both on and off the field. This year, we will run our camps in areas where access to sports and education is very limited and hope to provide life changing experience for 500 youth in most disadvantaged areas in Senegal.
In Senegal 65% of the population is under 30 years of age. Investments in youth education, sports, skill training are critical to unlock the full potential of the next generation. Youth in Senegal demonstrate enormous physical strength and talent. With sports training and educational support, skills are built for life. The NDAW ACADEMIE is convinced that investments in sports and education contribute to the empowerment of the next generation in Senegal and the Africa continent as a whole.
